COURSE OVERVIEW
Students will be introduced to Extreme Networks’ network access control solution, ExtremeControl. Students will learn methods to properly install and configure their ExtremeControl engines. Use cases and deployments for ExtremeControl within different network models are also discussed.
The primary ExtremeControl use case covered in this course is visibility of end-systems with Passive and Pass-Through Modes. Components of authentication, including proxying RADIUS, are discussed. These concepts are reinforced through hands-on labs installing ExtremeControl into a preconfigured network.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This course is designed as the first step for individuals responsible for the installation and configuration of ExtremeControl.
MANDATORY PREREQUISITE
The associate level certification exam is a mandatory prerequisite and must be completed prior to attending the ExtremeControl – Installation and Configuration class. Students should possess an understanding of network fundamentals, general network management concepts, and network security concepts and technologies. To learn the basics of networking, see Extreme Academy.
