COURSE OVERVIEW

Students will learn troubleshooting methodology as well as the troubleshooting toolkit available to Network Engineers and ExtremeXOS/SwitchEngine Administrators. This knowledge will be reinforced through actual hands-on experience with networking equipment in a lab environment, where students will perform real world tasks.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course is aimed at individuals who are responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of the Extreme Networks family of ExtremeXOS/SwitchEngine switches.

MANDATORY PREREQUISITE

To take part and to gain the most benefit from this training, you must possess the full learning credential in Extreme Switching – Installation and Configuration. This requires completion of the training and having successfully passed the related exam.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, students will have gained the working knowledge to:
• Apply a structured troubleshooting methodology and mindset for complex network issues.
• Use the ExtremeXOS/SwitchEngine troubleshooting toolset to collect evidence and isolate faults.
• Identify and resolve common Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 issues in switching environments.
• Prepare and document information required to open efficient support cases (e.g., GTAC) and reduce time to resolution.
